Better Know a Gamer: Issue #14: JuggalordsZero

Nu: What’s your Gamertag, and what’s the story behind it?
My Gamertag is JuggalordsZero. It’s a modified version of my alias from online sites, “Juggalords.” Now onto what it stands for.
The first part is Juggalo. It’s what I am. I am a huge fan of Psychopathic Records artists. The next part is rds. rds are my initials. And the Zero I just added to the end when I had to get a new Gamertag.

Nu: We’ve discussed my broad taste in music in other BKAG segments – I’m also down with the clown, folks. Where are you from?
I live in Sioux Falls, SD (USA) and have lived here for the majority of my life.

Nu: How old are you, and what do you do (school, job, family, hobbies)?
I am 27 years old. Currently I am an unemployed computer programmer (by “unemployed” I mean I don’t have a job in that field yet). I currently work at Famous Dave’s BBQ as a Host. My hobbies, besides games, are playing Magic: The Gathering trading card game and computer programming. I have 3 siblings, 2 sisters and one brother, all younger than me.

Nu: How long have you been gaming in general?
I think my first gaming experience was with arcade games. I think the first arcade game I played was Frogger when I was 7. My first console was the NES that my grandmother got us for christmas. It was a few years after it came out.

Nu: How long have you been a 360 owner?
I got my first 360 in Feb. 2006. I then had the disc drive stop reading games and had to exchange it using my product replacement plan. Then I my 360 started giving me weird colored shapes when I would start it up, so I had to exchange it one more time. So, I am on my third 360.

Nu: What was one of your favorite Xbox / Xbox Live moments?
Wow, I don’t know. I would have to say hooking my 360 up to a 50″ DLP TV for the first time and playing Oblivion. That is how gaming should be.

Nu: I’m with you there. I’m so sad about moving, since I will lose my room mate’s HDTV! Which Xbox 360 Achievement are you most proud of?
That would have to be Psych Out from Crackdown. That was the hardest thing I had to do in the game.

Nu: Wow. Yeah, hang that one from the mantle!! Are you currently working toward any achievements?
Yes, two. I am currently trying to beat CoD4 on Veteran. I am still trying to get the Grand Pearl Pooh-bah achievement in Hexic HD.

Nu: What game(s) are you playing the most now?
Right now I am playing CoD4 and Guitar Hero III. I don’t have a lot of disposable income so I can’t afford to buy many games, so the games I do buy I want to know that I will get my money’s worth. Although I am borrowing Guitar Hero III from a friend right now.

Nu: I’m there. Thanks to Goozex I got rid of a lot of games I don’t play and now have a backlog of new ones. Thanks, DJSteel! So, what’s playing now (what music do you listen to when away from your Xbox or when listening to music ON your Xbox)?
I actually listen to a lot of different music, but the main music I listen to is by Insane Clown Posse, Twiztid, Kottonmouth Kings, Blaze ya Dead Homie and any artist on Psychopathic Records. I have a particular playlist for when I play CoD4 online. It consists of Disturbed, Rob Zombie, White Zombie, and other hard rock music.

Nu: Don’t forget my boy Boondox! 😉 Do you try to stick with one Gamerpic, or change it frequently?
I only really change my Gamerpic when I get a new one I want or when I am tired of the one I currently have.

Nu: What is your current favorite Xbox related website to visit?
There are a few. 360voice.com, which I have been signed up there since May ’06, is one. 360achievements.com is another. I really like it for the help on how to figure out what I have to do to get the more challenging achievements. I used to go to The Live Eye, but that ended a few months ago. I really liked that site, it showed you how much you spent on playing games, watching videos, listening to music, etc. For blogs, I go to Unscripted360.com a lot. I also check majornelson.com, and gamerscoreblog.com.

Nu: All great sites! What game are you looking most forward to in 2008?
I would have to say Civilization Revolution. Being a fan of the series, I can’t wait for it. After that, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is one that I am excited about.

Nu: Do you have an all time favorite game, for any console or the PC?
In relation to the above question, I would have to say the Civilization series. I first played Civilization on the SNES.

Nu: Do you have any gaming buddies you frequently play with / want to make almost as famous as you?
My gaming buddies Lcpl13411975, Kutt3r892, BoneDarkDeamon, GodSlayer25, and Scary Old Man. I also have some coworkers that I game with: xX DLOVE Xx, ShugDay, JSmiffed, and Blackeze23.

Nu: Share the love, be sure and tell’em all you mentioned them on WinBreak.com! 😉 Any parting words for the droves of readers?
Yeah. Remember this: Your day is not bad, it’s good. You woke up today. It’s the day you don’t wake up you have to worry about.

Nu: Deep, man… deep. Thanks to JuggalordsZero – someone who’s been on my list for BKAG for a while… I kept meaning to dole out the clown love!

Better Know a Gamer: Issue #13: PSWii60 Elite

Nu: What’s your Gamertag, and what’s the story behind it?
Well my gamertag (PSWii60 Elite) is my way of telling people I love games in general and Im not some console fanboy, though the 360 is my console of preference.

Nu: Where are you from?
Im a Floridian by birth, transplanted to Waldorf,MD, but ultimately unded up here in Beverly,MA for that past 20 some odd years.

Nu: How old are you, and what do you do (school, job, family, hobbies)?
Im going to be 35 exactly one month from this reply. Man Im getting old, has the cliche about games being for kids completely died yet?

Nu: That’s why we do Better Know a Gamer: to show gamers from all walks of life! How long have you been gaming in general?
My earliest gaming memories are from playing “Swiss Family Robinson” on the Commodore 64, MMmmmm, can I get some more bear steaks please?

Nu: How long have you been a 360 owner?
Ive been a 360 owner since launch, I currently play on an Elite, also since they launched.

Nu: What was one of your favorite Xbox / Xbox Live moments?
My favorite game moment was winning an online game of NHL07 against a player who was ranked 3rd on the leaderboards. However I still consider the first time I logged onto XBoxLive right up there with my favorite gaming experiences of all time, I had a Rainbow Six 3 session that lasted about two days straight, thats right, no sleep.

Nu: Oh the addictive and unbelievable nature of Xbox Live’s birth. 🙂 Which Xbox 360 Achievement are you most proud of?
This kind of a lame answer, but Id have to say the “Complete 30 years of a franchise” in Madden 06 was my proudest moment since it was the one that gave me 1000 points in the game. Madden 06 is currently the only game I have 1000 points in. I dont really try to hard for achievements, as you can tell since Ive played almost every game on the system and only one with 1000 points.

Nu: Are you currently working toward any achievements?
I wouldnt mind getting all the NHL08 achievements. Some of them are pretty hard if you do it honestly. Some require you to play in Superstar mode. Anyone who has played that will tell you the AI is so cheap that its incredibly difficult.

Nu: I can respect that! What game(s) are you playing the most now?
Mostly COD4, NHL08 and Frontlines: Fuels of War.

Nu: What’s playing now (what music do you listen to when away from your Xbox or when listening to music ON your Xbox)?
Ill listen to anything that isnt hip hop, or country. Mostly Flaw, Megadeth, Cold Play, John Mayer, Pink Floyd, Bullet For My Valentine, Ben Harper, Foo Fighters and some Bob Marley.

Nu: Megadeath to Cold Play? You might have more diverse tastes than me!! Do you try to stick with one Gamerpic, or change it frequently?
The gamerpic that my friends see is usually the same one, but the other one that non-friends see changes a lot.

Nu: What is your current favorite Xbox related website to visit?
Id have to say TeamXbox or IGN.

Nu: What game are you looking most forward to in 2008?
I cant wait to get my hands on NHL09 or Unreal Tournament III!

Nu: Do you have an all time favorite game, for any console or the PC?
Id have to say Battlefield 1942 for the PC, I wish that experience could be duplicated on the console, so far I think Frontlines has come the closest, but the game doesnt seem to get any props, dont know why.

Nu: Operation Wolf on the Commodore 64 was similar… alright, maybe not. Do you have any gaming buddies you frequently play with / want to make almost as famous as you?
There are the friends ive played with from the begining AXO4, Lacrymosa, VarmintCong, Bill Slowsky420, and some newer ones like taintedzodiac, cheesnrice.

Nu: Any parting words for the droves of readers?
Only to remember, everyone was a newb at one time or another, so stop the newb persecution and let them have fun too.

Nu: Excellent parting words! Thanks for taking part in Better Know a Gamer, only on WinBreak.com! I tracked down PSWii60 Elite on the forums over at Goozex, which has a great community growing in their forums, even though you might not expect it from the site itself. Maybe I’ll see some more of you there! Thanks again to PSWii60 Elite!

Better Know a Gamer: Issue #11: ScooterMcT

Nu: What’s your Gamertag, and what’s the story behind it?
Well, my gamertag is ScooterMcT, which is a shortened form of Scooter McTits (not allowed on Live for offensive language I’d imagine). A friend of mine used to call me Scooter (my name is Scott, so it’s not a big stretch). I used to want to start a band, and name it Captain McTits and the Voyage to Mangyna. I figured I deserved to be said captian, so there it is.

Nu: Where are you from?
I’m originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Though I’ve now been in Pennsylvania for almost 7 years.

Nu: How old are you, and what do you do (school, job, family, hobbies)?
I’m 25, recently graduated from Penn State, but currently on the prowl for a job/career.

Nu: How long have you been gaming in general?
My dad is/was a huge nerd, so we had a computer long before anyone else I knew. I used to play J-Bird on our Tandy 1000. Now theres a game that needs a XBLA port.
I would say I got started console gaming with the Nintendo Entertainment System, though I never owned one. A few of my neighbors had one, so I made a point to befriend them in order to play as much as possible. I didn’t manage to get a system of my own until the Sega Genesis came out.

Nu: How long have you been a 360 owner?
I was a late adopter of the 360, so I didn’t pick one up until Feb 2007. I’ve been a Halo junkie since I bought my original Xbox, so I wasn’t in a huge hurry to pick up the 360. That and I guess I was a controller snob, insisting that the “duke” controller was better. The similarities between the S and the 360 controller scared me at first.

Nu: What was one of your favorite Xbox / Xbox Live moments?
The Halo 3 Beta, hands down. The atmosphere amongst the testers was different than you see in Halo 3 now-a-days. I think we appreciated it more.

Nu: Which Xbox 360 Achievement are you most proud of?
Killing Frenzy on Halo 3. Not so much because it was difficult, but because it was my last H3 achievement. I wear my Katana with pride.

Nu: Are you currently working toward any achievements?
Not at the moment, though I do plan on picking up a few more in Dark Sector career mode.

Nu: What game(s) are you playing the most now?
Halo 3. Especially since the Legendary Maps released. The release brought back on some of my fair-weather halo fan friends, so I get to play with them again.

Nu: What’s playing now (what music do you listen to when away from your Xbox or when listening to music ON your Xbox)?
Away from the 360 I recently picked up the latest Panic At The Disco album and I like it. On the 360 I play nothing but The Prodigy. I challenge anyone to not play Halo better with The Prodigy playing in the background.

Nu: Do you try to stick with one Gamerpic, or change it frequently?
I tend to be fickle with my gamerpic, so I don’t change often. I had MisterChief from the Bungie Day pack for a while, then I actually purchased the Assassins Creed pack. I was so impressed with that game I had to show it off a bit. Now I’ve got the Retro Xbox from the April Fools Day pack. I’ll probably end up back with one of those other 2 when I get tired of it.

Nu: What is your current favorite Xbox related website to visit?
Xbox-Scene has been my homepage since I bought my original Xbox, but I don’t know if I’d call that my favorite. Probably Xbox 360 Fanboy, I find myself checking that a few times a day.

Nu: What game are you looking most forward to in 2008?
Prototype looks pretty slick. Also I really want to play Gears of War 2 and Unreal Tournament 3.

Nu: Do you have an all time favorite game, for any console or the PC?
I hate to sound like a one track record here (or should I say looping mp3 so I relate to the youngsters in the audience) but Halo: Combat Evolved. I’ve probably clocked more hours on the original Halo than done anything else. I also made a great group of friends setting up lan games of Halo in my old college dorm.

Nu: Do you have any gaming buddies you frequently play with / want to make almost as famous as you?
I guess I’d have to give a shout out to LanisND. I’ve known him since high school, and he is responsible for me getting into Halo.

Nu: Any parting words for the droves of readers?
I think Caligula summed up my usual attitude perfectly. “Oderint dum metuant.” It’s latin for “Let them hate, so long as they fear.” I look forward to meeting and stomping all of you on Live at some point.

Better Know a Gamer: Issue #10: The RhymeScheme

Nu: What’s your Gamertag, and what’s the story behind it?
My GT is The RhymeScheme, its actually a song title from my favorite band Cursive. They are a very inspiring group and the lead singer Tim Kasher has an awesome voice. I recommend them to anyone.

Nu: Where are you from?
Well I was born in Michigan but grew up in Alabama so I guess im a southern guy LOL.

Nu: How old are you, and what do you do (school, job, family, hobbies)?
I am 29 and I work for a structural steel company doing drafting and detailing work. I have two kids Adam who is 9 he is on live as Lil Rhymescheme, my little girl Bella is 5 and My awesome wife is Hope we have known each other since 4th grade lol.

Nu: How long have you been gaming in general?
I have been gaming since the NES so however long that was ago.

Nu: How long have you been a 360 owner?
I got one a few weeks or months after they dropped.

Nu: What was one of your favorite Xbox / Xbox Live moments?
Being named an Ambassador this year was cool and I won a contest that included a copy of Crackdown and a trip to Atlanta to see Gym Class Heroes. I have also won a Heroes themed Xbox from Amazon not quite as cool as your autographed one but pretty nice.

Nu: Which Xbox 360 Achievement are you most proud of?
I guess all of them I like working towards my achievements so im proud of them all.

Nu: Are you currently working toward any achievements?
Always.

Nu: What game(s) are you playing the most now?
COD4 and Rock Band.

Nu: What’s playing now (what music do you listen to when away from your Xbox or when listening to music ON your Xbox)?
Anything from Cursive , The Good Life , or Brand New.

Nu: Those are some of my favorite bands! We should hang out more. 😉 Do you try to stick with one Gamerpic, or change it frequently?
I try to support the independents but I switch them up sometimes. Usually the U360 ones.

Nu: What is your current favorite Xbox related website to visit?
Unscripted360, but there are a ton of good ones. Like yours and Konsole Kingz.

Nu: What game are you looking most forward to in 2008?
Probably GTA4 right now.

Nu: Do you have an all time favorite game, for any console or the PC?
I guess the old Mario that came with the NES the one with duck hunt on it LOL.

Nu: Do you have any gaming buddies you frequently play with / want to make almost as famous as you?
Wow really there are a lot of people all the U360 and DDB friends and my real life friends Thumpthis, buckz71 and my little bro So So Gigalo

Nu: Any parting words for the droves of readers?
Thanks to you for doing these types of things to help people know a little more about there fellow gamers. And guys and girls remember its just a game have fun leave all the drama out.
