EMBED FAILED, READ BELOW
Word on the street is that Xbox 360 gamers will be getting their very own Metal Gear game. The flash animation (looks like my embedding skills are rusty, click to see the animation) shows the trademark green Xbox color, and a fairly suggestive “ring of light.” Notice how the animation seems to suggest a “next” Metal Gear, not specifically that Metal Gear Solid 4 will be coming to the 360… though one can’t say for sure that the idea is entirely out of the question. We’ll have to wait and see as this one develops. We’ll do our best to keep you informed.
Other sites have already picked up the news, I’m sure, but never the less it’s an interesting one to cover: the Xbox 360 outsold the Playstation 3 on Black Friday. This according to an article on InformationWeek. After all three companies have resolved all supply chain issues, the console market is expected to boom this holiday season. The Saturday after Thanksgiving, I found several stores with the Nintendo Wii in stock. eBay said that the Wii was it’s number one seller on Black Friday, though I hope people were getting deals instead of getting robbed, as these things seem to be available everywhere right now.
News broke earlier today of some Black Friday sales on the Xbox Live Marketplace!
Several Xbox Live Arcade games reduced from 800 to 500 MSPoints, as well as other downloadable content and themes. Take a look at the list on Major Nelson’s website, or the Xbox.com page using the link above.
Personally, I have been anticipating this name change. The upcoming game will now be titled Halo 3: ODST. This, according to today’s press release from Microsoft. It’s a short one, so I’ll post the entire contents below.
The Halo project announced at Tokyo Game Show, “Halo 3: Recon”, has gone through a name change. This upcoming chapter in the “Halo” saga will be named “Halo 3: ODST”. We are incredibly excited to tell a thrilling new story from the Halo universe and bring the perspective of new characters to the forefront of the Human-Covenant struggle. “Halo 3: ODST’s” tale will focus on the legendary ODSTs or “Orbital Drop Shock Troopers” as they drop into the ruined city of New Mombasa, looking for clues behind the Covenant’s catastrophic attack on the city. We’ll be sharing more about “Halo 3: ODST” and the ODST characters in the near future – stay tuned for more information!
