WBX: New PSN (Xbox Live?) game this August: Crash Course

WBX: WinBreak Exclusive
Okay, so it’s only an exclusive in that, I may be the only one who cares. 😉

The gear heads (determine just how funny that is as you read on) over at Psyonix are working on their own game. Tired of barely getting recognized for their work in other multi-platinum games, the team that brought us “Burn’t Rubber” in Gears of War is now combining cars and sports… some how.

The team hasn’t officially announced much of anything, but based on their previous publication efforts, the game will be on the Playstation 3 only. Hopefully similarities in the platforms will lead to an Xbox 360 version, as well. The website only points to one image, with the initials “bb” – renamed and shown below:

I did a little detective work to find the picture I put at the top of the article, and thus the title. But the name of the screenshot having the initials “bb” could mean that Crash Course may just be a working title, or “BB” was a hint at a working title – who knows – but for now, I’m calling it Crash Course. 🙂

It’s hard to tell what’s going on in that picture, really, other than a huge ball, and some cars… cars with guns. The game really has no description, so let’s hope some early looks at the game by reviewers are able to decipher more of what’s going on. But graphically, it looks exciting, and the giant Samus Aran morphball looking thing is almost a tease to old school Metroid fans. 😉

Diversification is good: Xbox 360, PS3, Wii…

As you can see from the picture above, I have added to my collection. After getting my hands on everything, I have to admit that I am still an Xbox 360 fan, by far. The experience the 360 gives Xbox Live members is unmatched, and the games are exactly what I’m looking for. But I cannot be fair without examining multiple platforms. Even though I’m a lowly blogger, I want to do my best to give fair feedback about all games.

If you want to meet up with me on any console, in any game, let me know!

"New"-ish Xbox 360 Motherboard shipping…

This is an old floppy drive – could it be the basis of the new 360?
No. No it couldn’t.

According to unconfirmed sources, the SeattlePI is reporting that the “Opus” motherboards are shipping on replacement 360’s from the Xbox service department.

These boards are the ones designed to replace RRoD’d consoles that do not have HDMI. Rather than being nice and giving us free upgrades, Microsoft decided to spend their R&D money on a mid-range solution to the RRoD replacement issue. Sorry folks!

Rumor: Gears of War GOTY-esque package next month

eCanadaNow is reporting that a new Gears of War package for the Xbox 360 will be hitting store shelves on June 24. The new package, purportedly showing up in retailer’s computer systems as “Gears of War with Maps,” will retail for $39.99, and include all of the previously released DLC (maps and playmodes), as well as the additional content from the PC version. This is the first peep I’ve heard about this, and while I am a little surprised, I don’t disbelieve the rumor.
