Better Know a Gamer: #32: GreenBoxFalcon

With a lot of behind the scenes changes at WinBreak (some good, some not so good), I have been busy working on a few articles (some taking far longer than I anticipated). So, why not spend a little time getting to know just one more member of our great Xbox Live community? This time, it’s GreenBoxFalcon, who submitted his answers to me a couple of weeks ago. Enjoy!

Nu: What’s your Gamertag, and what’s the story behind it?
My gamertag is GreenBoxFalcon. Well, it actually was supposed to be something else. Maybe, GreenBoxNinja? GreenBox stands for Xbox (at least I see it as a green box, since it’s interface is mostly green). But that one was already taken. So, since I got a “Falcon” edition of Xbox 360, it simply became GreenBoxFalcon.

Nu: While the original Xbox may have had an interface that wasn’t userf friendly, that green wire-mesh thing really was cool! I suppose the Xbox 360’s Dashboard has always been a little easier to navigtate, though! Where are you from, how old are you, and what do you do (school, job, family, hobbies)??
I am from Independence, Kansas (now living in Europe for a while) and I am currently a high-school senior. I am also a .NET software developer (creating various desktop apps) and actively using XNA to create simple games for my Xbox 360.

Nu: How long have you been gaming in general?
Probably it was early 1997 when I first played SimCity in DOS. Since then, I really enjoy playing video games.

Nu: I still have those 3 1/12 floppy disks for Sim City! How long have you been a 360 owner?
Since October 2008.

Nu: What was one of your favorite Xbox / Xbox Live moments?
When I actually received my first Xbox 360, unpacked it, plugged it in and started – and the nice-looking Xbox 360 UI showed up on my TV!

Nu: That seems to be “the moment” for quite a few people. It’s just a great feeling! Which Xbox 360 Achievement are you most proud of?
Completionist (Need For Speed: Undercover) – I really did complete all the events in Career Mode and I am quite proud of this.

Nu: Are you currently working toward any achievements?
Oh yes. It is called Notorious (once again, Need For Speed: Undercover) and it is only given if you finish 119 races in multiplayer. I am on my way, but I still got quite a few to go.

Nu: Well done. That is sitting on my shelf and needs to be played! What game(s) are you playing the most now?
It really depends. I guess I am playing mostly Need for Speed: Undercover now to get some last achievements.

Nu: What’s playing now (what music do you listen to when away from your Xbox or when listening to music ON your Xbox)?
Completely random music. Whatever plays on my Zune. It is either Kill Paradise, American Hi-Fi or Li’l Wayne.

Nu: Sweet. I like it when people have broad tastes in music! Do you try to stick with one Gamerpic, or change it frequently?
I change it depending on my current avatar, and I change the avatar monthly.

Nu: What is your current favorite Xbox related website to visit?
Xbox.com since it is the place where I can keep track of all my achievements and friend activities. Plus, I can interact with the huge Xbox community on the forums.

Nu: What upcoming game are you looking most forward to?
I think this would be NFL Madden 10. I like playing video games that involve football, so this would be a nice addition to my collection.

Nu: Do you have an all time favorite game, for any console or the PC?
This would be SimCity on PC (I just enjoy building something on my own) and the NCAA Football series on Xbox 360.

Nu: Do you have any gaming buddies you frequently play with / want to make almost as famous as you?
I play with a lot of different people all the time, so I can’t really say that I mostly play with someone.

Nu: Any parting words for the droves of readers?
Yeah, sure. Guys, when you play, it is just a game, so just sit back, relax and enjoy it.

Nu: Words to live by. Too many people get far too heated sometimes – enjoy the game! Well, everyone, that’s GreenBoxFalcon for ya. Send him a friend request or a game invite some time! And remember, if you want to be featured on Better Know a Gamer, just drop an email address here, and check your email!

Better Know a Gamer: #31: Fujiwarano

Moving on down the line, it’s the latest issue of Better Know a Gamer! Nominating themselves and their friends, people have continued to fill the inbox with requests to be featured on the long running Better Know a Gamer!

Nu: What’s your Gamertag, and what’s the story behind it?
My Gamertag is Fujiwarano. It does not have any real story behind it. I picked it up from a anime series called “Hikaru No Go” if you like anime, you really should check it out!

Nu: How old are you & where are you from?
I’m 20 years old and I’m from the Netherlands.

Nu: How long have you been gaming in general?
Not 100% sure about that. I remembered playing Duck Hunt on the old NES, (yes I played that one as well, CALZ88)!
But I think I have been gaming for over 15 years.

Nu: And here’s hoping for at least 15 more! How long have you been a 360 owner?
Since launch day.

Nu: Which Xbox 360 Achievement are you most proud of?
Getting out of the sewers in the Elders scrolls IV Oblivion.

Nu: Understandable! What game(s) are you playing the most now?
Battlefield 1943, Fable 2, and some Arcade games.

Nu: What’s playing now (what music do you listen to when away from your Xbox or when listening to music ON your Xbox)?
I dont listen to music that often. But I really like “X Japan”and “GoldFinger.” And I almost never listen to my own music in game…

Nu: A true fan of game music Do you try to stick with one Gamerpic, or change it frequently?
Nah, never really change it. Unless I’m really bored.

Nu: What is your current favorite Xbox related website to visit?
Gamespot.com, IGN.com, xbox.com, Majornelson.com. And a bunch of other gaming websites not related to Xbox.

Nu: What game are you looking most forward to in 2009/2010?
Mafia 2 / Alan Wake / Halo ODST and Reach…

Nu: I’m a little sad because I’m expecting Alan Wake to suffer the same fate as Clive Barker’s Jericho and Alone in the Dark. A lot of hype, but the launch might just fail. Wait and see, I guess. Do you have an all time favorite game, for any console or the PC?
There are many great games out there. It is really hard to just name one game. I like Chrono Trigger very much for the Super nintendo Entertainment system. And Secret of Mana.

Nu: Do you have any gaming buddies you frequently play with / want to make almost as famous as you?
I don’t have any game buddys to be honest. Not in real life and not on the internet.
Would you like to add me? Please send me a message of who you are please! I do not accept random friend request invites.

Nu: Any parting words for the droves of readers?
Yes I do 🙂

Welcome, one and all, to yet another installment of Better Know a Gamer! It’s not quite 20 million, but it is number 29, our friend webbut! If you’ve been keeping up with you’re reading, you’d know that webbut won the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix caption contest! Now then, here’s webbut!

Nu: What’s your Gamertag, and what’s the story behind it?
No story really, When I first started using the net I wanted a user name that I could use everywhere and never have to worry about it being taken so I got webbut (pronounced web but not we but).

Nu: Where are you from?
Queens, New York.

Nu: How old are you, and what do you do (school, job, family, hobbies)?

Nu: Excellent, another young buck! I was only 17 my first few weeks of college! Good luck in the fall. How long have you been gaming in general?
At the age of 5 I was told by my doctor I had a muscle weakness in my eye and she recommended I play an hour of video games daily, my mom got me a Sega Genesis!

Early this year, im still on my 1st paid for Gold membership.

Nu: Welcome to the Xbox Live Community! Glad you found your way to WinBreak! What was one of your favorite Xbox / Xbox Live moments?
When I first got it I hooked into the living room tv and popped in Halo 3 for my first Live match and in the waiting room some vulgar and racist things were said before i could get my headset in… my entire family was in the room with me.

Nu: Xbox Live can be a dangerous place, it’s true. I’m sure it was exciting, to have your whole family there to witness the big moment, shame it was ruined by people like that. Which Xbox 360 Achievement are you most proud of?
I’m not big on achievements most of the time I’m surprised when I get them.

Nu: I’m surprised, because you have a very high gamerscore for someone who just started playing. Are you currently working toward any achievements?
Nope not really.

Nu: Maybe you will start craving that surprise before much longer? 😉 What game(s) are you playing the most now?
Street Fighter 4, Fallout 3, Ninjatown, and The world Ends With You.

Nu: Yes, a Multi-Platform gamer! Very exciting. What’s playing now (what music do you listen to when away from your Xbox or when listening to music ON your Xbox)?
Rock and electronica mostly System of a Down, Beatles, Incubus, Daft punk, Justice are others.

Nu: Great musical choices, man! Way to know musical roots with The Beatles, too! Do you try to stick with one Gamerpic, or change it frequently?
Well I haven’t had my 360 long, I’m pretty sure I’ve changed it 3 times including today.

Better Know a Gamer: #28: JordanBBad

I have been painfully busy the last few weeks, wrapping up a massive project for work. Still, it was on schedule, and under budget, so I guess all of the time was worth it! I am sorry I have let the site sit in the dark for so long, but it’s now time to really come back in our favorite fashion! With a new Better Know a Gamer! So let’s get right to it!

Nu: What’s your Gamertag, and what’s the story behind it?
JordanBBad (pronounced jor-dan-bee-bad); the BBad prefix was originally my dad’s nickname, and I just took it as my own!

Nu: Where are you from?
Down here in Georgia (USA).

Nu: You and PimpMethod should arrange a meet up – but it is a fairly large state, so maybe you’re nowhere near each other! How old are you, and what do you do (school, job, family, hobbies)?
Only 15 right now, currently a sophomore in Ola High.

Nu: Stay in school, kids! How long have you been gaming in general?
I first picked up a controller at around 5 or 6 years old. Been hooked since!

Nu: How long have you been a 360 owner?
Only about 2 years.

Nu: What was one of your favorite Xbox / Xbox Live moments?
Damn well wasn’t the part where I had to set it up! Jeez, was that frustrating…

Nu: Heh, it was frustrating for me, only because I was impatient! I couldn’t wait to get down to the action! Which Xbox 360 Achievement are you most proud of?
I’m not much for achievements, but when I get one, I just get that almost indescribable rush, especially when it’s like 50 or 100 gamerpoints.

Nu: That’s exactly why it becomes an addiction. Trust me! You’ll own Madden 2006 some day, if you don’t already. 😉 Are you currently working toward any achievements?
Nope, just going at a steady pace, picking up a couple gamerpoints here and fro.

Nu: Good way to game. The best way, in my opinion, then you don’t lose sight of what’s important about the game: it’s playability, rather than just playing for points! What game(s) are you playing the most now?
I’ve been playing a lot of Fallout 3 some time ago, but nowadays I’m just playing whatever’s in mind (and in my arsenal), whether it’s Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, Oblivion, Castle Crashers, etc.

Nu: All excellent choices! What’s playing now (what music do you listen to when away from your Xbox or when listening to music ON your Xbox)?
There’s no music on now; just sitting here in front of my computer, watching some House reruns.

Nu: House is an addiction all it’s own. I’ve been bitten by the bug once or twice before. Do you try to stick with one Gamerpic, or change it frequently?
I’ve only changed once, and that was because of the transition into the NXE.

Nu: What is your current favorite Xbox related website to visit?
I dunno. I guess Bungie.net ’cause, ya know, I’m such a diehard fan of Halo.

Nu: What game are you looking most forward to in 2009?
Anything and everything new, innovative, and fun! (Yeah, I dunno a lot about this year regarding gaming…)

Nu: Do you have an all time favorite game, for any console or the PC?
If you’re talking about XBox-related, it would be The Elder Scrolls series and all three Halo’s; otherwise, DEFINITELY The Legend of Zelda series.

Nu: Zelda games are iconic classics. Do you have any gaming buddies you frequently play with / want to make almost as famous as you?
Yep! There’s DasaniAnderson, PLAST1C f0rk, Pillow Torso, HUFF B KILLIN, and many many more.

Nu: Feel free to nominate your friends fr BKAG at any time! Any parting words for the droves of readers?
Thanks for taking your time to read this! I don’t know much about the site, but I’m willing to contribute to it all I can as long as you readers do the same.
Oh, and hi mom!!

Nu: Good kid! Don’t forget to give the link to your mom, and have her email it to her friends too! We try to keep this a family friendly site that anyone can enjoy and learn from! More articles to come this week, thanks for reading the latest Better Know a Gamer!
