Better Know a Gamer: #29: webbut

Welcome, one and all, to yet another installment of Better Know a Gamer! It’s not quite 20 million, but it is number 29, our friend webbut! If you’ve been keeping up with you’re reading, you’d know that webbut won the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix caption contest! Now then, here’s webbut!

Nu: What’s your Gamertag, and what’s the story behind it?
No story really, When I first started using the net I wanted a user name that I could use everywhere and never have to worry about it being taken so I got webbut (pronounced web but not we but).

Nu: Where are you from?
Queens, New York.

Nu: How old are you, and what do you do (school, job, family, hobbies)?
17 right now I’m between high school and college.

Nu: Excellent, another young buck! I was only 17 my first few weeks of college! Good luck in the fall. How long have you been gaming in general?
At the age of 5 I was told by my doctor I had a muscle weakness in my eye and she recommended I play an hour of video games daily, my mom got me a Sega Genesis!

Nu: Do you still play “only” 1 hour per day? 🙂 How long have you been a 360 owner?
Early this year, im still on my 1st paid for Gold membership.

Nu: Welcome to the Xbox Live Community! Glad you found your way to WinBreak! What was one of your favorite Xbox / Xbox Live moments?
When I first got it I hooked into the living room tv and popped in Halo 3 for my first Live match and in the waiting room some vulgar and racist things were said before i could get my headset in… my entire family was in the room with me.

Nu: Xbox Live can be a dangerous place, it’s true. I’m sure it was exciting, to have your whole family there to witness the big moment, shame it was ruined by people like that. Which Xbox 360 Achievement are you most proud of?
I’m not big on achievements most of the time I’m surprised when I get them.

Nu: I’m surprised, because you have a very high gamerscore for someone who just started playing. Are you currently working toward any achievements?
Nope not really.

Nu: Maybe you will start craving that surprise before much longer? 😉 What game(s) are you playing the most now?
Street Fighter 4, Fallout 3, Ninjatown, and The world Ends With You.

Nu: Yes, a Multi-Platform gamer! Very exciting. What’s playing now (what music do you listen to when away from your Xbox or when listening to music ON your Xbox)?
Rock and electronica mostly System of a Down, Beatles, Incubus, Daft punk, Justice are others.

Nu: Great musical choices, man! Way to know musical roots with The Beatles, too! Do you try to stick with one Gamerpic, or change it frequently?
Well I haven’t had my 360 long, I’m pretty sure I’ve changed it 3 times including today.

Nu: What is your current favorite Xbox related website to visit?
Rooster Teeth, if it counts. If not, then GameSpot.

Nu: You bet it counts, I know a lot of a good people over at Rooster Teeth! What game are you looking most forward to in 2009?
I’m looking forward to returning to Rapture in Bioshock 2 the most but I’m really looking froward to BlazBlue and Assasin’s Creed 2 as well.

Nu: Do you have an all time favorite game, for any console or the PC?
Bioshock or Assasin’s Creed!

Nu: Great games, both of’em! I’m pretty excited about the upcoming sequels in 2009, as well, and hopefully will see Webbut in some of those multiplayer matches! Thanks for taking the time to be a part of Better Know a Gamer, and thanks to all of my readers for checking out our latest community member.

Exclusive: Halo 3 ODST Special Edition Pictures!

WBX: WinBreak Exclusive
Low-Res images found their way into my hands recently of the Halo 3 ODST “Special Edition” package. What makes it special? You get a controller, similar to the one that was released with the Halo 3 special edition Xbox 360 console. Two weeks ago, Kotaku released a full sized image of the controller. We are pleased to be the first to bring you the packaging shots of this new special edition game/controller combo.

tagged exlcusive because I have yet to see the angled/back of the case on other sites, perhaps they do exist, but I haven’t seen’em! I’m just hoping for some higher res shots, I want to read the back of that package!

Reminder: Xbox Live Down June 16 '09

Awesome? Yes. Xbox Operations Center? No.

Yeah it’s old news, but I figured now was a good time for a reminder.

From MajorNelson:
On Tuesday, June 16th from 7:01AM UTC (12:01 AM PST) for up to 24 hours, Xbox Live will be offline for maintenance. As a result, Xbox LIVE and the ‘My Xbox’ section of Xbox.com will be unavailable, and the Xbox forums will be in read only mode (you won’t be able to post.)

The remainder of Xbox.com will be available with limited interruptions.

This service maintenance is to prepare for some of the recently announced features that will be available later this year.

Let me reiterate: When the service returns, you will not have any new functions or features. This is for scheduled maintenance only.
